Your New Source for Designer Inspiration: Meet the Clare Collective

As a company founded and led by an interior designer, it’s part of our mission to be your go-to source for creating a home you love—providing not just paint but also endless inspiration to pull it all off. We’re excited to bring you even more ways to get inspired with the launch of the Clare Collective: a group of designers who are here to share bright ideas, clever projects, and all the inspo you need to design your ideal home.

In putting together the collective, it was only natural that we tapped some of our favorite personalities, whose unique points of view have earned them legit reputations as design authorities. We also wanted to bring in a group of voices that reflects the diversity of our customers—in terms of design style, location, their takes on color, and more. Of course, each ambassador is not only amazingly talented in their work, they’re also fun to follow. We know you’ll love double-tapping all their photos just like we do!

So, what exactly are you going to see from the Clare Collective? We’ve got tons of projects in the works that are sure to inspire a refresh in your own space. Each member will share their favorite paint picks, snaps from inside their swoon-worthy homes, inventive paint projects and all sorts of wisdom when it comes to design. We can’t wait to share more designer inspiration with you.

And now, without further ado, let’s meet the team!

Meet the Designers

Orlando Soria

Orlando Soria is the ultimate design expert, and celebrated author with more than a decade of experience working with clients on their homes, and as the host of the show “Build Me Up” on HGTV/Discovery+.

We love Orlando’s unabashed love of color, inventive paint tricks, his passion for helping others transform their homes on a variety of budgets, and his California-eclectic aesthetic that effortlessly combines vintage furnishings with modern finds.

His color philosophy: “I'm not afraid of color. Every room in my house is a different color.”

Lauren Hom

Lauren Hom is a graphic designer, artist and all-around creative whose work is filled with endless joy and inspiration, especially when it comes to her fearless, out-of-the-box use of color.

Lauren runs her own creative studio, Hom Sweet Hom, where she specializes in whimsical hand-lettering, murals and creative workshops. Her work has earned her collaborations with brands like Starbucks and Google and a Webby award—and we’re so excited to share her unique talent and projects with the Clare Collective. When Lauren’s not busy with creative work, you can find her in the kitchen or at culinary school exploring ways to bring food and design together.

Her color philosophy: “I combine colors in a way that feels maximal without being overwhelming—that’s the graphic designer in me!”

The Brownstone Boys

Barry Bordelon and Jordan Slocum are the team behind the Brownstone Boys, a Brooklyn-based design studio with a passion for reviving old homes and bringing a fresh, modern spin to each renovation.

Brownstone Boys began as a passion project—revamping their own historic Brooklyn brownstone back in 2018. They’ve since grown to work with clients on their own renos and have been featured on channels like HGTV and the Magnolia Network.

Their color philosophy: “Homes should be a little bit of a fantasy. And color kind of opens your mind to more adventurous thoughts.”

Ashley Whiteside

Ashley Whiteside is an interior stylist and artist based in North Carolina—and we can’t get enough of her vibrant aesthetic, which she describes as “eclectic but not deranged, washed in color but not juvenile, sophisticated but approachable, and inspired but not pretentious.”

Her pursuits run the gamut: Sometimes she’s helping clients renovate an entire home before move-in, sometimes she’s revamping a single room on a budget, and sometimes she’s working on a piece of beautiful abstract art.

Her color philosophy: “I find myself leaning into muted brights and occasional pastels for main spaces, colors from nature in bedrooms, and deep, rich colors in the spaces we want to chill.”

Hema Persad

Hema Persad is an interior designer based in Los Angeles with an aesthetic that’s clean, eclectic and inspired by travels and cultures from around the world.

When it comes to interiors, Hema is entirely self-taught, leaning into the skills she honed working as a fashion stylist for nearly a decade. She launched her firm, Sagrada Studios, back in 2021 after an initial project fed into several more, and we’ve loved watching her transform residential, commercial, and celebrity client projects all over the country with success (and stunning style!) ever since.

Her color philosophy: “Color is the best and most important tool to convey feeling in a space.”
