Aries
The first sign of the zodiac, Aries is ruled by Mars, the God of War, which is associated with the color red.
Because of its ruling planet, Aries tend to be very intense, in-your-face, so to speak, “so they don’t mind a really bright hue like that,” Ophira says. “That’s going to be Aries’ signature color.”
Leo
Fire sign Leo is ruled by the sun, and represented as the king and queen of the jungle. For this regal sign, go for the gold or mustard, “a rich, atmospheric kind of color,” Ophira suggests.
"Fire signs are very active and dynamic. They like to be inspired by power colors that wake them up and keep them going."
Sagittarius
Ruled by Jupiter, which is the planet of global travel and cross-cultural interactions, Sag is a good fit for colors inspired by destinations like Morocco, India, and Thailand. Just imagine the bold blues and greens of Morocco or the vibrant hot pinks of India.

Taurus
Taurus is ruled by Venus, a soothing, softer planet known as the planet of beauty. That means they’re most likely to vibe with an enveloping grey hue. “Something that looks good with an oxblood leather,” Ophira says; even a soft beige or cream.
Virgo
The sign of the virgin, Virgo likes that fresh feel of cleanliness and purity. According to Ophira, Virgos do well with whites, creams, and neutrals, like a very soft dove grey. Any variation on white or taupe or light grey is going to best match Virgo’s angelic vibe.
Capricorn
Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn, which exudes serious energy. Unlike its fellow earth signs, Caps don’t mind a darker vibe. Think: “old money” kind of hues like hunter green and navy blue, Ophira says.
"The trendiest colors are reserved for the air signs. These signs aren’t only into what’s of the moment, but generally thrive on movement, ideas and fun."
Gemini
A sign of communication, Gemini is quite the eclectic. Give them a bright apple or spring green, yellow, orange or hot pink, Ophira suggests. Fun, playful, eclectic, quirky, mod bright colors match their energy best.
Libra
Though Libra is an air sign, it’s also ruled by the planet Venus, whose energy jives well with colors on the softer side of the color wheel. Go for pretty pastel-like hues in blue, rose or light green.
Aquarius
Ruled by Uranus, a planet that spins on its side, Aquarius tends to give off an equally quirky, wacky vibe and gravitate to colors (and finishes) that reflects light in some way, like a vivid purple or indigo.
"Sensitive water signs tend to absorb everyone’s emotions, and they’re more respected because of it. They need colors that are very comforting and soothing, like they’re at the beach, near water, or a spiritual sanctuary of sorts."
Cancer
A silvery, greyish blue with some reflective qualities create just the right energy for the sign that’s ruled by the moon.
Scorpio
With Pluto, the god of the underworld, as its ruler, Scorpio is a natural fit with very dark and intense hues — read: black — that signify, like the sign, intensity, power, and control.
Pisces
Ruled by Neptune, the god of the sea, known for its foggy, illusionary qualities, a sea green, or misty purple are an easy energy match for Pisces.
