Amazing paint

It has been several months since I painted the kitchen cabinets with Seize the Gray and I am happy to report that it is holding up great! Splatters and drops from cooking are easily wiped off the painted cabinets and the paint is still looking fresh. Our original cabinets are MDF board with a white vinyl outer covering that we had peeled off; we had to scrape off a waxy underlying layer of adhesive. We applied a couple coats of Clare primer and then a couple coats of Seize the Gray. The walls were painted with Fresh Kicks after applying the primer. Painting with Clare paint was very enjoyable, as was smooth and smelled so pleasant. You will definitely need two coats if you are painting over a darker color. Our original walls were yellow and Fresh Kicks is a bright white.

One of the main reasons we purchased this paint was because of the lack of VOCs. I was reminded of how awful traditional paint is just the other day, when I had to touch up a baseboard with a can of non-Clare paint that came with our unit. It smelled awful and I tried to hold my breath as not to breathe in all the VOCs. I cannot imagine having to paint a whole room with those paints and I will never go back to them! It is not worth your health. I am very happy with how the kitchen remodel turned out, largely in part due to the paint. Great product! I will definitely buy from Clare again. I also liked the minimal plastic waste in the packaging. No styrofoam - just cardboard and just a couple…
