We Saw the Dot Cake Trend and Had One Question: Can We Paint It?
We turned the internet's favorite cake into paint. Kind of.
If you've spent any time on Instagram lately, you've probably seen it.
The cake. The frosting. The circle sprinkles. The satisfying ASMR tapping.
One minute you're scrolling. The next you're watching someone try a Dot Cake for the fifth time and thinking, "Why is this so mesmerizing?"
Naturally, we started wondering...
What if Clare made one?
The Internet's Favorite Trend, Clare Edition
When the Dot Cake trend started taking over our feeds, we couldn't resist putting our own spin on it.
After all, we spend our days obsessing over color, finish, texture and making things look ridiculously good. We're basically frosting people, but for walls.
A paint can felt like the perfect challenge.
The result?
A Dot Cake Paint Can so convincing that several people thought we had launched a new edible product category.
(We have not. Please do not eat your paint.)
Why We Love a Good Design Joke
At Clare, we take paint seriously.
But we don't think paint has to take itself seriously.
Some of our favorite projects happen when creativity and color collide in unexpected ways. Whether we're helping you choose the perfect white paint, testing bold new color combinations or turning a gallon of paint into dessert, we're always looking for ways to make design feel a little more approachable and a lot more fun.
Because decorating your home shouldn't feel intimidating. It should feel like playing with color.
The Comments Passed the Vibe Check
The best part? Reading everyone's reactions.
Some of you knew it was a joke.
Others were fully convinced we'd somehow invented delicious paint.
And more than a few of you asked the only question that really mattered:
"Okay, but what color is the inside?" Fair.
For our official Dot Cake Paint taste test, we filled the can with two favorites: Coffee Date and OMGreen.
A Reminder That Color Should Be Fun
Paint transforms rooms.
Cake improves almost every situation.
Put them together and you get a reminder that design doesn't always need to be so serious.
Sometimes the internet hands you a trend that's simply too sweet to ignore.
