This dreamy all-white bedroom makeover is pure perfection
Minimalist design inspo, coming right up.
It took three years for Ashli Stockton’s husband to realize that their bedroom was a pale shade of pink. That coupled with an overall feminine vibe (thanks in large part to mirrored furniture and a Chippendale headboard) and the couple’s evolving tastes meant it was time for a change. The owner and founder of Sunday Forever, an indie lifestyle brand that sells beautiful products like one-of-a-kind candles and kimonos that are all made in the US, Ashli celebrates comfort and beauty every day at work and wanted to bring it into her home with an ethereal all-white bedroom makeover.
“I appreciate the little luxuries, I always have. I’m really good at making things nice, cute and cozy no matter what it is. I’ve been a very hard worker my entire life so when it’s time to chill, I like to make it count,” she explains. So the first step to giving her space some new life? A fresh coat of white paint—but not just your basic decorators white— Clare helped hone her bedroom paint ideas and she choose Snow Day, the coolest of our white paint colors, with just enough warmth to keep it feeling vibrant and inviting. Of all of the bedroom color palettes, an all-white bedroom can be both soothing and invigorating so it’s important to choose the perfect white paint for your space.
The rest of the room is very minimal, but cozy, with a large bed covered in a textured quilt. It was important to the couple that their bed was big enough for them to curl up and have their morning coffee but still had leftover room for their dogs to snooze. “I wanted to elevate and edit things a bit,” Ashli explains. “So we got rid of our headboard all together but kept our other furniture.” Now these pieces, a trio of deep, grey shagreen dressers and simple curved Lucite side tables, stand out against their bright background.
It’s the little touches in the room that add pops of color to the all-white bedroom - blush pink pillows, flowers, plant leaves, a well-placed throw blanket on a window seat, and touches of gold hardware that enhance the space. “I like a mix of vintage family heirlooms, found treasures mixed with modern pieces but everything needs to feel comfy and cozy,” says Ashli. “I like a lot of tone on tone texture and little bits of cute magic all over the place. I even have empty vintage perfume bottles in the shower with little green plant clippings.” And if you’re wondering, Ashli does take her work home with her, there are touches of Sunday Forever’s ethereal energy throughout the space. “I bring good vibes into the room in every way possible,” she says. “There are candles and crystals sprinkled about, as well as a huge crystal ball that sits right on top of my dresser. If I’m in the room there’s never a candle not burning!”
The couple knows that it’s not just all about new bedroom décor ideas though. They already have a nighttime ritual that lets them fully unwind at the end of the day so they can enjoy the space. “While I’m doing my skincare routine, my husband ‘gets the room ready’ every single night. Is that weird or cute? I can’t tell anymore,” she laughs. “He sets the lighting the way that I like it, gets the temperature just right, pulls down the shades, lights the candles, turns down the bed, tosses the dogs in, and fills my water glass.” How cute is that? Her main bedroom ideas are easy to emulate with your own fresh coat of paint. It seems like any time Ashli puts her mind to it she’s capable of creating her own little dream world!
