Clare Expands Telecommunication Line Card Access Switch (LCAS) Product Family for Voice and Integrated Voice/Data Applications

CPC7595 Offers Enhanced Ringing Test Switch Breakdown Voltage (320V)!

October 2, 2007–Beverly, Massachusetts, USA – Clare, Inc., an IXYS company (NASDAQ: IXYS – News), announces the immediate production release of the newest member of its Line Card Access Switch (LCAS) family. The CPC7595 provides designers with the maximum flexibility in line card design for both traditional voice and integrated voice-data (IVD) line cards found in the central office (CO) and digital loop carrier (DLC) communications equipment. The CPC7595 is a monolithic, 10-pole, line card access switch, available in a 20 or 28-pin SOIC or a 28-pin MLP package.

The CPC7595 provides the necessary functions to replace three 2-Form-C electromechanical relays on analog line cards or combined voice and data line cards found in central office, access, and PBX equipment. The device contains solid state switches for tip and ring line break, ringing injection and test access. The enhanced ringing test switch breakdown voltage of 320 Volts renders the CPC7595 virtually immune to breakdown even with the presence of large transients. In addition to the ringing test switch breakdown voltage, the ringing switch breakdown rating has also been increased.

The CPC7595 requires only a +5 V supply, and provides stable start-up conditioning during system power up and for hot plug insertion applications. Once active, the inputs respond to traditional TTL logic levels enabling the CPC7595 to be used with 3.3V only logic.

There are 3 electrical versions of the CPC7595 which are differentiated by their internal protection functionality and logic states. The "C" version (CPC7595xC) has the maximum functionality and contains an internal SCR for tertiary line card protection as well as a unique channel test monitor state. The monitor state allows for simultaneous closure of the break and channel test switch pairs so nonintrusive service monitoring of the line can be performed.

Pricing and Availability
The CPC7595 10-pole line card access switch is in full production with a leadtime of 8 weeks. For OEM quantities of 25KU, CPC7595 pricing is approximately $2.93 depending on version.
