Clare, an IXYS Company, designs, manufactures, and markets high-voltage integrated circuits (ICs) and optically isolated Solid State Relays (OptoMOS®) for the communication, industrial, power, and consumer markets.

As a pioneer in the development of Solid State Relays (SSRs), Clare has become a leading supplier to the telecommunications, security, utility metering, and industrial control industries. With the recent introduction of xDSL DC termination ICs, power solid state relays, high-voltage analog switches, and electroluminescent display driver products, Clare has greatly expanded its product portfolio for the communication, power, medical, and display markets.

Corporate Heritage
Clare, Inc., formerly CP Clare Corporation, was founded in 1937 by Carl P. Clare to provide high-voltage switching technology to a growing telecommunications market. Over the past 60+ years, Clare has built upon this high-voltage expertise, evolving from a manufacturer of electromagnetic components to a leader in silicon solutions for the last inch of the last telecommunications mile.

On July 6, 1998, Clare acquired Micronix Integrated Systems, Inc. Micronix specializes in the design and manufacture of analog and mixed-signal ASICs and ASSPs, utilizing CMOS, BiCMOS, and Bipolar semiconductor technologies. Micronix products sell into the data and wireless communications, medical, industrial and automated test equipment marketplaces.

In June 2002, Clare, Inc. was acquired by IXYS Corporation and is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of IXYS.
IXYS Corporation designs, manufactures, and markets a broad spectrum of power semiconductors, including Power MOSFETs, IGBTs, Ultra-fast Reverse Recovery Diodes, silicon and gallium arsenide Schottky diodes, thyristors and rectifiers, Multi-chip Modules, DCB ceramic substrates and Power Interface Integrated Circuits for the global power market.
